Assistant Lecturer, OMM Faculty

Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine

The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) is seeking two Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) physicians for part-time, 0.5 FTE (negotiable) faculty teaching positions at the Cleveland campus.

These positions may initially require up to two days of travel per week to the HCOM Athens campus for training purposes in preparation for the incoming class of first year students at the Cleveland campus in July 2015.

The successful applicants should possess a strong desire to teach and advise osteopathic medical students within the curriculum and contribute to the development of the college and its new Cleveland campus through teaching and service. Candidates must have outstanding leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to relate to a wide diversity of faculty, staff, students and community members.

The successful applicants will have special interest and qualifications in the practice and teaching of osteopathic principles and manipulative medicine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and deliver curricular and other scholarly activities.
Teach courses assigned to the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM).
Participate in the ongoing programs and program development of the Department of OMM including pre- and postdoctoral training and other scholarly activities as appropriate.
Teach the clinical application of osteopathic principles and manipulative medicine in ambulatory and hospital-based practices.
Perform clinical teaching for osteopathic medical students, interns, and residents in an outpatient care and/or hospital OMM setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
Graduate of an American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-approved osteopathic college
Satisfactory completion of an AOA-approved internship and AOA-approved residency program
Board eligible for or Board certified by the AOA
Ohio Licensure or credentials allowing same
DEA Licensure
PREFERRED
Additional certification or eligibility for certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine

RANK, SALARY, AND BENEFITS:
Base University salary at the Assistant/Associate Lecturer rank commensurate with experience and credentials. The expectations of the Assistant/Associate Lecturer rank are equivalent to a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position.

Willing to partner with your health care practice to negotiate contracted services;
Preference given to individuals who are clinically active
