Ohio ACOFP Talks Primary Care in the Legislature

A team of staff members and physicians from the Ohio Osteopathic Association, Ohio ACOFP, Ohio Academy of Family Physicians and the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatricians (the founding organizations of the Ohio Coalition of Primary Care Physicians) is visiting newly-elected legislators to educate them about the importance of primary care and key health care issues to expect in the coming year.

The three associations have met with Reps. Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville), Dick Stein (R-Norwalk), Glenn Holmes (D-McDonald), Scott Wiggam (R-Wooster), Darrell Kick (R-Loudonville), and Derek Merrin (R-Monclova Twp). Future meetings are scheduled with Bernadine Kent (D-Columbus); Frank Hoagland (R-Adena); Candace Keller (R- Middletown); Craig Ridel (R-Defiance); and Mark Romanchuk (R-Mansfield).

Ohio ACOFP Treasurer Jennifer L. Gwilym, DO, was in Columbus, February 16, to meet with state legislators. OOA Past President John F. Ramey, DO, will be helping with legislative visits later this month.
