Ohio Medicaid Delays MITS Roll Out
Ohio's new Medicaid claims adjudication system, known as the Medicaid Information Technology System, or MITS, was scheduled to go live on December 7, but according to State Medicaid Director Stacy Plouck, the roll out will be postponed.
The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, in partnership with its MITS vendor, Hewlett Packard, have reached a decision that December 7 is not a viable date to implement the system. A meeting has been scheduled
"We have not established a new implementation date at this time ," said Plouck, "but we anticipate that the implementation extension will be one of weeks,
rather than months. We will continue to monitor our progress toward the
readiness criteria that are required for federal certification of the
system and plan to establish a new date as soon as possible."
A Medicaid round table discussion has been scheduled, November 15, with provider organizations. MITS implementation will be one of the topics on the agenda. For information about the Ohio MITS implementation, go to http://jfs.ohio.gov/mits/index.stm.
