OHIP Launches ProOhio Health IT Market

The Ohio Health Information Partnership (OHIP) has launched ProOhio Health IT Market to help health care providers to identify Ohio companies that offer services related to the implementation and adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Only companies registered in Ohio are eligible to apply.

ProOhio Health IT Market companies will offer the following: internet services, data management, computer hardware, security controls, document imaging, messaging, health information privacy and compliance, change management, human resources, office supplies, billing services, and IT networking, assistance, support and training.

OHIP is a non-profit entity, that assists Ohio physicians and other providers with the implementation and adoption of health information technology. It was founded by the Ohio Hospital Association, the Ohio Osteopathic Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, BioOhio, and the State of Ohio. Funding comes from supported  a combination of state funds and federal grants, including the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

“The health care providers we are working with as part of this program have asked OHIP for help in finding companies that can assist them with their technical and office needs,” said Fred Richards,  OHIP's Chief Operation Officer.

“As a former small business owner and graduate of TechColumbus, a Columbus organization that assists small technology companies, I understand the need to find effective ways to reach your target audiences. OHIP’s ProOhio Health IT Market can help match companies with clients.”

OHIP will publish a list of Ohio companies participating in the program.  The list of Ohio vendors will also serve as a resource for OHIP’s regional partners, who will be providing many of the hands-on services to help providers select, adopt, and implement an EHR.
