Registration for DO Day on Capitol Hill is Now Open!

Registration is now open through January 24th for this year's DO Day on Capitol Hill, March 6, in Washington, DC.

DO Day is the premier  national osteopathic advocacy event  for DOs and osteopathic medical students.  Participants get the opportunity to meet with their Members of Congress and discuss issues important to the osteopathic profession.

To encourage attendance by second and third year students, OU-HCOM is amending the Health Policy Elective to allow one week’s credit (2 hours)  that will count toward meeting the 28 weeks of cumulative elective credit all students need.  Third and fourth year students who want full credit  must register for and participate in all activities planned as part of  this elective.  We are planning 32 hours of activity that can be documented by participants within the time period of March 1 -7, 2014-- the minimum duty hours needed  for any rotation.

The Ohio Osteopathic Association is again sponsoring bus transportation for students who want to travel as a group.  The bus normally leaves for Washington early Wednesday morning. Activities typically begin with a 7:00 am breakfast briefing on Thursday, followed by visits with members of Congress. This year, OOA Health Policy Chair Peter A. Bell, DO, is working with Congressman Steve Stivers (R-Columbus) to schedule a Wednesday night reception with Ohio's entire Congressional Caucus, as well as tours of the Capitol Thursday afternoon. Watch for more information as plans are finalized.

Hurry, registration closes January 24, 2014. Register Now!
