This report details the intentional collaboration taking place to close the gaps in our response continuum, as the history of Ohio's anti-trafficking movement has made it clear: the key to success is collaboration across systems, disciplines, and communities.

OPPA Advocacy Day on Wed., June 4, 2025

There is still time to participate in this year's OPPA Advocacy Day at the Statehouse on Wed., June 4, 2025 in Columbus. Advocacy Day brings together OPPA members to meet in small groups with their legislators to advocate on legislative priorities important to OPPA, the profession of psychiatry, and patients with mental illness, including substance use disorder. Nita Bhatt, MD to serve a second term as President

Earlier this month, then President-elect Victoria Kelly, MD, announced she needed to step down from the position due to several unanticipated work commitments. At that time, and in accordance with OPPA bylaws, the Nominating Committee met to make a recommendation to Council to replace Dr. Kelly as president-elect. The Nominating Committee voted unanimously to recommend Nita Bhatt, MD, serve in that position, and that she then become president of OPPA for an unprecedented second term. The Council voted unanimously to pass the action paper by the Nominating Committee.
