Position Summary:

This position will work closely with the CHSP-HCOM (College of Health Sciences and Professions-Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine) Clinical Education Team along with system-level leadership to align and direct activities pertaining to the execution and development of a strategic plan for preceptor recruitment and preceptor reward and recognition. The Project Director will play an integral role in creating synergy, coordination, and collaboration to lead to a sustainable system-level approach to clinical education within CHSP and HCOM.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Works to prioritize and enable the collaboration between current personnel, primarily from the Joint CHSP-HCOM Clinical Education Team (representing two colleges, two programs, and approximately ten individuals) to achieve rotation and preceptor development with associated reward and recognition initiatives. This individual will also work with other university units that place students in clinical rotations/experiences to help ensure a more coordinated and collaborative approach to student placement across departments, colleges and programs.

-Works to organize communication, particularly inflow of information from the field (hospital and community partners), creates and/or updates recruitment and reward and recognition tools and materials, creates necessary reports, and works with college communication and external relations department(s). 

-Works to organize data and manage information to include use of a Customer Relationship Management program; inventories available preceptors and rotations; create necessary preceptor and rotation development tools; and centralizes available data to improve the effectiveness of our development efforts.

-Must be able to work toward collaboration with external and internal constituents to build teams to achieve project success in a timely manner.

-Some travel will be required.

-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational management, business development, communication, advocacy, or equivalent field.

-3 years of experience with mid-size or large scale project coordination/management involving internal and external constituents

-3 years of supervisory or managerial experience

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master’s degree in business, organizational management, business development, communication, advocacy, or equivalent field.

-5 years of experience with mid-size or large scale project coordination/management 

-5 years of supervisory or managerial experience

-System-level knowledge of the healthcare landscape in Ohio
