Columbus Docs Attend Kick-Off

Academy Hosts Successful Meeting

Nearly 50 DOs, osteopathic medical students, and others attend the COA Kick-Off meeting on September 25, 2007. Attendees heard presentations from COA President Donald R. Furci, DO; Osteopathic Heritage Foundations President Richard A. Vincent; and David P. Healy, DO, at the reception and dinner held at Due Amici restaurant in downtown Columbus.

Furci provided a review of upcoming COA activities. Vincent shared information about the $100,000,000 in services, educational programs and research the OHF has funded since 1999. The projects improve the health and quality of life in Central Ohio communities and advance the principles and practices of osteopathic medical care. Healy, a pulmonologist at Grant Medical Center, presented "COPD Diagnosis and Treatment 2007."

The meeting was sponsored by Boeringer Ingelheim.
